Waterfall and way back | back and forth, and stop and resume [part 7]
With a morning so peaceful, it could turn me into a morning person [anyways, that’s not happening anytime soon now. P.s. still a night owl]. So, to embrace the atmosphere I and Bhagyashree went for a walk. It was time to explore Dharamkot before leaving it behind. The valley views were perfect with many adorable structures. We wandered around and climbed up for views even better [the greater the height the better the views]. We went back to checkout, but we kept our luggage in the hostel for another visit to Mcleodganj was must and a waterfall was yet to be seen.
We had google maps and a game of lost and found to play again, took many roads leading to cottages and cafes and asked for direction, for a while it was rather a walk of zigzag that we were weaving. Also, we ran into a group of guys we saw in our morning walk, trying to get to the waterfall too. But we were clueless for a better part of time, for a while we were following them and later they were following us [we out ran them in our quest to find the waterfall]. And so after witnessing some beautiful structures, painted walls, and narrow and steep streets, we finally got to the waterfall.
The journey was surely more beautiful than the destination we were longing for. Also, we climbed down from Dharamkot to Mcleodganj, and that was satisfying in itself. So, after staring at the water running down we went to a tiny café and had maggi with the view of people crossing the tiny water streams and sitting on rocks in between [not the season for a rustling full stream waterfall].
We made our way to the streets of Mcleodganj to shop a little, before taking an auto back to Dharamkot to get our luggage [backpacks]. By this time, that bumpy ride was comfortable enough. After getting our backpacks it was again time to find an auto to reach Mcleodgang. And in the process we found a van painted with colourful handprints [the little things].
After reaching Mcleodganj took a taxi to Dharamshala to get a bus back to Shimla. But waiting was written on that part of the day and so we waited. And when the wait was finally over, the bus was not direct to Shimla, by the time we reached the next changing stop, it was evening. And so we went in to get some food while constantly being on watch to catch the bus to Shimla [it was a real pickle]. We were a little restless, we didn’t want the trip to end, but we also wanted to spend some time in Shimla. After finally getting settled on the bus, we relaxed, me and Prachee were sitting on the rear end of the bus while Bhagyashree was sitting in front. As the time passed by the bus started getting crowded with a very big family, there was a lot of noise [uncomfortable silence is much rather preferred]. We didn’t get any sleep or rest, but the time passed by and soon we were in the bus stand of Shimla.
As the relief started flooding in, Prachee got a call from Bhagyashree as we got down from the bus that she got down at the previous stop. Because she couldn’t see us in the bus and one of the passengers told her that we already got down, whereas we just had our heads down, lucid dreaming. While we suggested we get a cab and get her, she got another bus and in no time she was back. For a while when Prachee first got the call, I told her that she would be getting down soon from the bus and that she might be confused [we were all losing our mind a little, sleep deprived].
It was time to go back home, we couldn’t get an auto but strangely got a cab, but it wasn’t yet time to sit back. We were searching our every pocket for the money and penny by penny we were finally able to gather the amount to be paid [travelling broke got its own thrill]. It was morning but still dark, so after reaching like any sane person we went to sleep, a much needed rest. And so with lots of adventures, we also collected the memories, the most funny and beautiful stories.
